Enku

Enku, a monk on a pilgrimage during the Edo period, Enku is said to have set out to create 120,000 statues of Buddha.
There are currently more than 5,000 statues of the Buddha, known as "Enku-butsu," in Japan.
I visited Hida with manga artist Yukihiko Inoue to see the Buddha statues.
In the process of visiting Hida to see the Buddha statues with manga artist Yukihiko Inoue, and actually creating them with sculptor Koji Tanada, we are now encountering for the first time the figure of Enku, who created incomparable forms during his mysterious life.
