Recorded in Milan in 1980, this set features a quartet with Ted Daniels (tp, fh), David S. Ware (ts), and Nick De Geronimo (b). Highlights include A1, a cover of a piece first introduced on Jocque and Le Scott’s 1978 album The Ornette Coleman Songbook, and the outstanding A2, a deep black Afro-jazz cut driven by a grooving rhythm section and a superb unison theme from trumpet and tenor sax. A powerful work of free jazz overflowing with Black consciousness and energy.
