The A-side features a quintet with Gabor Szabo (g), Albert Stinson (b), Ron Carter (b), Pete La Roca (ds), and Anthony Williams (ds), recorded in 1965, already hinting at the psychedelic direction Lloyd would later pursue more fully on Waves and Geeta. The B-side presents recordings from 1962, with Lloyd featured alongside Chico Hamilton \u0026amp; His Quintet led by Hamilton himself, with Szabo, Stinson, Williams, and Garnett Brown (tb). These tracks are excerpted from the album originally issued that same year as Drumfusion under the name The New Dynamic Chico Hamilton Quintet, and the performance is superb, overflowing with the unmistakable Latin feeling so characteristic of Hamilton’s groups.
