The lineup alone is extraordinary, featuring Alfredo de la Fé, Candido, Thad Jones, Pepper Adams, Paquito D’Rivera, and many others—and the performances are equally remarkable. A1 is an old-school Latin jazz piece dedicated to Dizzy Gillespie, while A2 pays tribute to the Cuban percussion group Los Papines. A3 captures a street performance recorded in Manhattan, and B1 is a live recording from Havana.
