Jan Garbarek appears on saxophone on two tracks, while the remainder of the album consists entirely of solo bass performances. Peacock delivers deeply lyrical playing through an almost guitar-like technique in which he sustains riffs while simultaneously developing melodic solo lines, resulting in a profoundly spiritual work of remarkable depth. There is a genuine sense of song in his playing. The duo performances with Garbarek are equally superb, steeped in an understated and deeply resonant atmosphere.
