The only vinyl release by obscure Dutch artist Henk Werkhoven, who apparently continues to make music quietly to this day, originally self-released in 1982. Musically, the album sits somewhere between symphonic progressive rock and traditional folk, but B2 is by far the standout track. Built around a raga-like drone of sitar and tambura, with earthy flute playing a deeply nostalgic melody, it unfolds as a profoundly spiritual, ethnic-tinged jazz-rock piece with an almost weightless sense of drift. The flowing sound of wind chimes also resonates beautifully throughout. A remarkable hidden gem.

A1: Alan's Song

B2: Tales in the Morning

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0511/8073/2616/files/IMG_2274_c5fa01c8-a4c9-4452-9742-d14025aef169.jpg?v=1793179787
