Side A contains the original string-septet version of “Shaker Loops,” the celebrated composition whose orchestral version, performed by the San Francisco Symphony, was featured in the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION. It is performed by the Ridge Quartet together with Dan Smiley, Judiyaba, and Gary Lowendusky. Side B features the piano work “Phrygian Gates,” composed between 1977 and 1978 and performed by Mack McCray.
