Performing a program made up entirely of her own compositions, Abe presents a deeply imaginative set of marimba solo pieces that balance a contemporary sensibility—at times even hinting at minimal music—with imagery evocative of Japan’s original landscapes and poetic scenery. A superb work that lets you fully appreciate the sheer beauty of the marimba’s tone throughout.
