Highlights include A4, where the contrast between bass melodies that spread out like quiet ripples and wet-toned guitar lines creates a beautifully melancholic atmosphere, and B3, where solid yet warm percussion beats and bass draw an open, expansive landscape. Throughout the album, the majestic melodies produced from Egan’s 4-string and 8-string double-neck bass unfold into music full of new age sensibility, matching perfectly with Asian landscapes as well. B4 is especially wonderful, revealing a fully meditative ambient world. An absolutely reliable classic.
