Recorded in August of that same year at RCA Studios in New York with Richard Davis on bass, Billy Cobham on drums, and Ray Barretto on percussion. Sardaby’s playing is truly exceptional here—bright and rhythmically agile, yet shaded with a certain melancholy, full of sweetness, depth, and nuance. An outstanding session that blends refined urban sophistication with a deep Caribbean groove throughout. Barretto’s percussion work is also incredibly effective.
