This one appears to date from around 1982–83. Carrying on the waka tradition—the Yoruba root of both juju and fuji—she rides simple yet deeply infectious percussion led by talking drum, while her distinctive, Islam-influenced vocal lines and chorus drift beautifully through a lush veil of reverb. A wonderfully danceable set, and like classic juju and fuji recordings, the pieces are performed entirely non-stop from start to finish.
