Both sides consist of extended medley-style performances, a format commonly found in Nigerian dance music such as juju and fuji. Built around repetitive guitar figures, intricately interlocking percussion, and call-and-response vocals, the album captures a raw, undulating form of juju from before the style became fully established as commercial pop music. A superb recording that also hints at the point where juju began to expand through the incorporation of elements such as Afrobeat. Highly recommended.
