Active from the late 1970s into the early 1980s, the trio left behind only two albums. The repertoire includes jazz classics such as Miles Davis’ “Nardis” and Thelonious Monk’s “’Round Midnight,” but the real highlights are Alexiou’s original compositions. While rooted in an authentic jazz approach, these pieces are delivered with an emotional depth reminiscent of Mal Waldron. B2 is especially outstanding, propelled by the groovy unison of Alexiou’s scat vocals and piano.
