Inspired by the paintings of Swiss artist Paul Klee — active from the late 19th into the 20th century, and reportedly a highly skilled pianist himself — the album consists entirely of solo piano performances played on Kako’s own Bösendorfer Imperial. Quiet and dynamic, minimal yet seemingly random in structure, the performances unfold like abstract paintings, just as evocative and imaginative as Klee’s own work. There is also a faint trace of Erik Satie in the atmosphere, with plenty of ambient sensibility throughout.
