Recorded in Hollywood, where Matsui was based at the time, the album features a host of West Coast session musicians, along with the little-known Canadian singer Warren Stanyer on vocals. Centered around the theme of “summer,” it presents a very period-specific blend of major-label-oriented pop, rock, R\u0026amp;B, and soul. Among the highlights are the AOR numbers B1 and B4, whose crisp, refreshing sound production brings to mind Donald Fagen of Steely Dan.
