The album includes one track each from vibraphonist Walt Dickerson’s Tell Us Only The Beautiful Things, pianist George Cables’ Why Not, Air Song by Air, the trio of Henry Threadgill, Fred Hopkins, and Steve McCall, Afrisong by pianist Muhal Richard Abrams, a central figure of Chicago’s AACM, pianist Joseph Bonner’s Triangle, and saxophonist Monty Waters’ The Black Cat.
