Kaoru Inoue, CHEE SHIMIZU, Hajime Oishi In recent years, field recording has attracted attention from various fields. The method of recording the atmosphere of a place, the vibrations of sound, the local customs and ethnicity, and even the breath of the people who lived in that era, through a microphone, holds significant meaning in today's world where globalization is homogenizing everything.

This talk event series will explore the charm of field recordings at "PHYSICAL STORE," a unique spot in Kami-Igusa, Suginami-ku. The first event will feature a dialogue between CHEE SHIMIZU, owner of PHYSICAL STORE, and a DJ/selector/record producer highly regarded overseas, and Kaoru Inoue, a DJ/musician well-versed in ethnic music from around the world. Hajime Oishi, a writer specializing in themes of region and local culture, will moderate the discussion. It will be a night where various themes intersect, such as "land and sound," "sound and ethnicity," and "sound and memory," as we listen to field recordings from around the world.
