A 1983 release by Japanese composer and synthesizer player Hiroyuki Fujikake, known for his extensive work spanning symphonies, operas, and television music. Following his historic achievement in 1977—becoming the first Japanese composer to win the Grand Prix in the composition category at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition—this album was issued worldwide by a Belgian label. Conceived as a suite in six parts under the theme of the vast cosmos and titled Galactic Symphony, the work unfolds as a grand, fantastical vision of space music. Making full use of Japan’s world-class synthesizers from Korg, Roland, and beyond, Fujikake delivers an expansive and immersive sonic universe that remains as majestic as it is imaginative.
