This is a 1983 album by the contemporary American musician Philip Glass, hailing from Baltimore. Similar to his work on "Powaqqatsi - Life in Transformation," which was featured in the first edition of the guidebook "obscure sound," this album serves as the soundtrack for the documentary film "Koyaanisqatsi," directed by Godfrey Reggio. It showcases Glass's quintessential minimalist style, with solemn choral arrangements and synth arpeggios layered to create evolving atmospheres. The craftsmanship in this album is exceptionally outstanding. One might sense influences on James Horner's music for the film "A Beautiful Mind." Please note that there is a light background noise throughout the album, so please be aware of that.
