Legacy for the Future Music
NHK (Japan) 1977
MEF 6001 (LP) w/booklet(some slightly stains.)

media : EX-/EX-(some light surface noises.)

This is the original soundtrack album for the documentary program "Legacy for the Future," which was produced by NHK to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the start of broadcasting and broadcast from 1974 to 1975. Composed by Toru Takemitsu, the theme music was performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Hiroyuki Iwaki, and the rest of the music was performed by Musica Nova under the direction of Seiichi Mitsuishi. The program traces the path of civilization exchange from the Shosoin Repository in Nara to Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Africa, and the music is composed on the theme of ancient civilizations and ruins that appear in the program, such as Jomon earthenware, Sumer, and Mayan, expressing a very fantastic world. Even if you are not familiar with contemporary music or classical music, I think this is a wonderful work that you can fully enjoy. The 8-page booklet includes color photos of ancient ruins and comments by Toru Takemitsu.
