An album released in 1989 by German pianist Ulrich Gumpert, who has also played in groups led by Klaus Lenz, Gunter Sommer, and Heinz Becker. This work focuses on the compositions of Erik Satie, a singular composer from the late 19th to early 20th century, known for his musique d'ameublement ("furniture music"), which later influenced Brian Eno’s concept of ambient music. Side A features Quatre Préludes, composed in 1886, while Side B includes Petite ouverture à danser (1900) and Danses Gothiques (1893). Each piece is beautifully performed with a deep, introspective approach that further enhances Satie’s melancholic style.
A2: Quarte Preludes : Prélude D'Eginhard
B2: Danses Gothiques : A L'occasion D'une Grande Peine.
