This album was released in 1977 by Yuji Takahashi, a contemporary musician/composer/pianist who studied music theory under Iannis Xenakis and is active worldwide along with Toshi Ichiyanagi and Toru Takemitsu. The album was released in 1977 on ALM Records, a label owned by Kojima Recordings, one of the pioneers of independent labels in Japan, and was a live recording of the "Yuji Takahashi Piano Recital: Bach and Cage" held at Kanagawa Prefectural Music Hall in 1974. A2 was composed in 1938, when Cage was 27 years old, and uses the 12-tone technique, in which fragments are transposed and progressed according to pitch relationships in a sequence of notes only. B1 was composed for the stage music for ballet, and is a composition based on Cage's unique theory of circulating unique rhythmic structures, expressing traditional Indian seasonality.

A2: Metamorphoses
B1: The Seasons
