This album features compositions by three leading minimalist composers, John Adams, Philip Glass, and Steve Reich, performed under the direction of Christopher Warren-Green, who became the principal conductor/music director of The London Chamber Orchestra, the oldest chamber orchestra in England, in 1988. It was recorded in March 1990 at All Saints' Church in Petersham and was originally released in the same year as an album that also included works by Dave Heath, but this German edition, released by Warner Classics in 2015, omits Heath's pieces. This is a superb album that flawlessly performs John Adams's "Shaker Loops," which was also released by Dutch Philips in 1984 with Edo de Waart conducting the San Francisco Symphony; Steve Reich's "Eight Lines," whose 1984 recording conducted by Ransom Wilson was featured in the guidebook "OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION"; and Philip Glass's "Facades," from his masterpiece "Glassworks" released in 1982. Dead stock, unopened item has arrived.
