An album released in 1986 by pianist Aki Takahashi, whose brother is one of Japan's leading contemporary musicians, Yuji Takahashi, and whose own performances of John Cage and Toru Takemitsu have won him international acclaim, and who works extensively as a contemporary musician. It features a score by French composer Erik Satie, known for his 'Furniture Music', which led Brian Eno to advocate ambient music. This is a masterful and expressive performance of a collection of pieces that showcase Satie's twisted sense of style, including "Auto-description", "Old Gold Coins and Old Armour", "Dedication Table of Fairy Tale Music" and "Bureaucratic Sonatina" from The Children's Book of Music. The 'Fairy Tale Music Menu' is somewhat like a Japanese children's song. Satie's music is interesting after all.
