The first album by Alive!, an American female fusion group consisting of Janet Small (p), Rhiannon (vo), Susanne Vincenza (b), Barbara Borden (dr) and Carolyn Brandy (per), was released in 1979. Album. A trio of piano, bass, and drums, plus two percussionists, Alive! is an all-female jazz group with a modal, swinging beat, Brazilian percussion, vocals, and scatting. This is a classic club jazz album along with the third album "City Life". The ballads are also very beautiful. The Afro-Latin percussion also works well. Signed by Rhiannon on the back of the cover.
