This is the first album released in 1980 by Alula, a singer and songwriter who is probably French of Afro-Caribbean descent. Her original songs incorporate various genres such as disco, reggae, folk, and blues, as well as covers of Jamaican and African traditional music. The light-hearted disco number A1 and the lilting reggae tunes A4 and B1 are good, but the blues number B4, sung roughly with a sense of poetry while ticking a minimalist riff on a single guitar, is definitely the one I recommend.
A4: Uhm, Uhm, Uhm
B1: Ethiopia
B4: Mama, lovely Mama
