Go With The Flow

The sole album left behind in 1987 by Andy Boggs, a musician from Beloit, Wisconsin. After being diagnosed with a brain tumor while in college, Boggs recorded material at home, which was later compiled and self-released by volunteers after he passed away that same year at the young age of 23. All proceeds were donated to the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer). The recordings span ambient, contemporary, electronics, experimental, and pop, clearly suggesting the extraordinary talent he possessed. At the same time, the unpolished, home-recorded quality works in its favor, resulting in a rare, deeply personal and abstract work overflowing with intimacy—almost as if peering into Boggs’s inner world as he confronted death. The artwork is wonderful as well. Highly recommended.
