This is a 1956 album by American trumpeter Art Farmer, who, after performing with Lionel Hampton’s group, collaborated with musicians such as Clifford Brown, Benny Golson, and Jim Hall. This compilation brings together tracks from his first leader album Work of Art (1953) and his 1954 releases Wildwood / Tijuana and Evening in Paris / Elephant Walk. The album features an outstanding lineup, including Quincy Jones (p), Horace Silver (p), Percy Heath (b), and Art Taylor (ds). Highly recommended are A1 and B5, which showcase Afro-Cuban jazz with a lively Latin beat and warm, flowing trumpet phrases that create an uplifting and engaging atmosphere.
