The original soundtrack album for the 1967 German film "Katz & Maus" directed by Hansjurgen Pohland, featuring music by Attila Zoller, one of Hungary's most famous jazz guitarists who has been a major influence on Pat Metheny. The A-side is a quartet with Albert Dailey (p), Ron Carter (b), and Bobby Thomas (ds), and the B-side is a trio with Barr Phillips (b) and Jimmy Owens (tp). The music is calm and relaxed from start to finish, but there is also a deeper side to the music that is hard to ignore. In particular, the soundscape on B3, where you can see the horizon of the ocean on a dimly lit cloudy day, is a real treat.
