This album was released in 1972 by B.H. Zimmermann, a German composer who left behind many experimental works from the 1960s. A1 is a concerto by Ernst Bour conducted by Siegfried Palm on cello and played by the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra. B1 is the Prelude for Large Orchestra, conducted by Hans Zender and played by the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. The most notable is B2, one of Zimmerman's two electronic works of his lifetime, composed for the 1970 Osaka World's Fair and performed on tape in the spherical auditorium of the West German Pavilion, directed by Stockhausen. Produced entirely on sine wave, it is swallowed up by electronic sounds that seem to expand time and space.
