This 1982 album is by freestyle drummer Han Bennink, who since the 1960s has played countless sessions with musicians such as Eric Dolphy, Don Cherry, Steve Lacy, Peter Brötzmann, and Derek Bailey, actively working across a wide range of styles from orthodox jazz to free improvisation. The album consists entirely of drum solos, delivering a relentless cascade of percussive sounds like a sudden squall—purely exhilarating and undeniably brilliant. Very highly recommended.
