An album released in 1972 by American vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, who rose to prominence in early 1960s New York. He participated in the recording of Jackie McLean’s classic One Step Beyond and later gained further recognition through sessions with Eric Dolphy, Andrew Hill, and others. This masterpiece features an all-star lineup, including Jack DeJohnette (drums), Hank Jones (piano), Ron Carter (bass), and Hubert Laws (flute), along with a string orchestra. The result is a jazz album filled with romantic and elegant emotions, leaning towards an easy-listening aesthetic. A highlight is A4, where a funky rhythm section meets the emotional interplay of vibes and string ensemble. This is the 1981 US reissue with alternate artwork.
