An album released in 1974 by American jazz pianist Cecil Taylor, who, while possessing a solid foundation in contemporary and classical music such as Bartók and Stockhausen, pursued an intensely physical form of expression. It was released on Unit Core Records, which appears to be Taylor's own independent label. Side A features a solo piano piece by Taylor that opens with an exceptionally beautiful melody, while Side B presents free jazz performed by a quartet consisting of Jimmy Lyons (alto sax), Sirone aka Norris Jones (bass), and Andrew Cyrille (drums), unfolding into chaotic free improvisation.
