The World's Greatest Unknown", the second album by Cy Timmons, an unknown singer/songwriter/guitarist who has been active in Atlanta, Georgia, USA since the early 1970s. This album was released independently in 1974. The first release on the newly established Japanese label Bright Size Records. He is now 80 years old. After being influenced by bossa nova, he pursued the acoustic guitar technique and developed his own style. He plays acoustic guitar all the time, and his simple but deep guitar sound and fresh voice have something in common with Hawaiian mellow grooves. The song B3, which is over 9 minutes long, is stunningly beautiful, with scatting that sounds like a trumpet or synthesizer. It's a must listen. The album was mastered and cut at Abbey Road Studio in London, which shows a lot of care. The record jacket and the record are housed in a cardboard envelope, an elaborate piece of binding.
