This 1981 album by multi-instrumentalist Dario Domingues, hailing from Patagonia, is a stunning piece of work. The A1 track is incredible, with timpani laying down a four-beat pulse, the berimbau providing a relentless minimalist rhythm, and a rich ensemble of flutes bouncing with melodic energy. On A3, a jaw harp wildly leaps over earthy percussion beats, while B5 features a shamanic percussion rhythm underpinning a chant with an indescribably unique and intense feeling—an absolutely mind-blowing experience. This is ethnic trip music that takes indigenous South American folk traditions and pushes them into avant-garde territory. Traditional folkloric tracks, where flutes like the quena evoke a deep sense of nostalgia, are also outstanding. Highly recommended for fans of Mexican ethno-experimental artists such as Jorge Reyes and Antonio Zepeda.

A2: Plantida De Aleli
