This is a 1978 masterpiece album by Egberto Gismonti, Brazil’s genius artist beyond question. Dedicated to the indigenous peoples of the Amazon, the album opens with a simple bossa track featuring Gismonti’s unadorned vocals, followed by the danceable, percussion-driven rhythms and soothing tones of Indian flutes on track A2, and the deep, resonant ethnic guitar phrases of track B3. Throughout, a spiritual atmosphere pervades, resulting in a work of remarkable mystique. Original Brazilian pressing.
