A very obscure record has arrived. Released in 1986 on the independent label Die Mühle, this 12-inch single comes from Heidinasch, an all-female four-piece group active around the Japanese indie new wave/post-punk scene of the early to mid-1980s. Built around vocals, guitar, piano, synthesizer, bass, violin and percussion, the music carries that unmistakable period flavour of Japanese indie new wave, with coquettish, ennui-laced “heta-uma” vocals at the front. But what really stands out here is the sound production: the beautifully floating guitar work has a wonderful atmosphere, at times recalling Vini Reilly of The Durutti Column.
The whole record is highly interesting, but the instrumental cut on B2 comes especially recommended.

B1: この街
B2: Nach dem Shade (ダメージの末にII)
