This is the only album left in 1977 by Helio Mariano, a singer who was active in samba clubs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It was recorded during Mariano's six-month stay in Japan from the half year of 1976 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Toshiba-EMI's Express label. Folk singer Kiyoshi Hasegawa, members of Los Indios, and others participated in composing and playing on the album, which also features covers of famous MPB samba songs, but the most notable ones are "Feeling," known as a cover of Hi-Fi Set, and Benito Di Paula's song with Japanese lyrics. The song is sung with Japanese lyrics. The backing performance is completely samba, but Mariano's ability to sing the Japanese lyrics in a husky low voice with a brilliant melody makes it into a superb adult and mellow samba with unparalleled taste. Highly recommended.
