The third installment in a series released in 1980 that compiles original compositions by shakuhachi player Hozan Yamamoto, who made great contributions not only to classical performing arts but also to contemporary activities. This album features 6 tracks that showcase Yamamoto's modern sensibilities, including A1 "Aioi no Uta," where a koto ensemble of 14 members from the Miyagi Gasso-dan and a shakuhachi quintet (Shakuhachi 1979) intertwine; A2 "Ichikotsu," a duet with koto by Tomoko Sunazaki; A3 "Take no Shirabe," an ensemble piece featuring 10 shakuhachi players from the Tozan-ryu Hozankai; and B2 "Haru," a shakuhachi solo by Taizan Kawamura. A3 "Take no Shirabe" is a composition that resonates with minimalists like Steve Reich.
