This album was released in 1985 by Indian singer/songwriter Jagjit Singh and his wife Chitra Singh, who were known as the "King and Queen of Ghazals" for their fame in Indian music since the 1970s. Ghazal is a form of poetry in the literary tradition derived from the Middle East and Asia, and a form of lyric poetry on the theme of love. This album is characterized by the style of the early ghazals, but also by the modern arrangements of the songs, and the mellow and mild vocals of both musicians are still intact.
