Danish saxophonist John Tchicai, one of the key figures who contributed to the rise of free jazz with John Coltrane, Cecil Taylor, Archie Shepp, Don Cherry, Albert Ayler and others. After returning to Denmark from New York, he formed a group with Danish musicians such as Pierre Dorge and Ole Thilo, and European musicians such as Willem Breuker, and released this album in 1969 as Cadentia Nova Danica. The long piece A1 is open with a ethnic-tinged introduction and develops into a raging free improvisation as the second half approaches. It is a masterpiece by the Ethno Free Jazz Orchestra with an organic and spiritual feel similar to "Actions" and "Organic Music Society" by Don Cherry, who moved to Sweden around the same time and was active mainly in Europe. This is a German reissue in 1971.
