The American pianist late Keith Jarrett, who made a name for himself in his twenties with historic albums such as Solo Concert and Koln Concert, has been at the forefront of the music world ever since. The album features works by Armenian composer Georges Ivanovich Gurdjieff, a philosopher and one of the greatest mystical thinkers of the 20th century, as well as a writer and author, and Russian composer Thomas de Hartmann, a student and collaborator of Gurdjieff. Keith Jarrett's interpretation of Gurdjieff's music is simply marvellous, a unique blend of minimalism and an ancient, esoteric introspective world, steeped in Gurdjieff's religious beliefs and ideas. From the minimalist bass of A1, you are drawn in.

A1: Readings of Sacred Books
A2: Prayers and Despair
