Keith Jarrett
Luminessence
ECM Records/Trio Records (Japan) 1975
ECM 1049 ST (LP) embossed sleeve.
sleeve : VG+(stains, dirts, color-faded.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly surface noises.)

This album was released in 1975 by American pianist Keith Jarrett, who made his name in his 20s with such historic masterpieces as "Solo Concert" and "Koln Concert". This composition for string orchestra and saxophone features the Sudfunk Synphony Orchestra from Stuttgart, Germany, and the Norwegian saxophonist Jan Garbarek, whom Jarrett trusts to perform the piece, and Jarrett does not perform it himself but conducts it. This is a gem of a recording in which every inch of Jarrett's rare talent as a composer can be felt, as well as his unique conception as a jazz artist, free improvisation of saxophone on orchestral compositions. It is a concept that is typical of ECM, which crosses the boundaries between jazz and contemporary music. Highly recommended. This is the Japanese pressing manufatured by Trio Records, and it has a good quality sound.
