This is a 1974 leader album by the American pianist Kenny Drew, who moved his base of activities from the United States to Europe in the 1960s, gaining high praise. Accompanied by his lifelong friends Neils-Henning Orsted Pedersen (b) and Albert Heath (ds) in a trio, Drew elegantly performs his original scores as well as standard numbers. The emotionally moving title track, "A2," exudes deep spirituality. The cover of Miles Davis's iconic composition "All Blues" in A4 features Heath's tight drum solo, making it outstanding. Alongside the masterpiece "If You Could See Me Now," released the following year with the same trio, it represents the pinnacle of Drew's most refined era.
