Francois Luambo Makiadi Lokanga La Djo Pene, known as Franco, has been active since the 50's and is one of the leading figures in the international scene of Congolese music. This album was released in 1988 under the name Le Grand Maitre Franco. In addition to his own band, T.P.O.K. Jazz, he also featured female singers Nana and Baniel. TIn a style unique to '80s, with the introduction of synthesizers and drum machines, it sounds different from his earlier albums. However, a warm, tropical atmosphere is characteristic of Franco's work. The vocals of Nana and Baniel are also a nice touch.
