A French singer, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, who debuted in 1979 with Press Color under Ze Records, released a total of five albums before tragically passing away at the young age of 48 in 2004. Her fourth album, released in 1986, was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, under the production of Adam Kidron, who is also known for his work with The Pop Group and The Monochrome Set. The recording featured numerous Brazilian musicians, including Djalma Correa, Sivuca, and Jorge Degas, among others. Remarkably, Chet Baker also participated, contributing trumpet and backing vocals. This masterpiece showcases an innovative approach, blending New Wave with jazz and world music influences through a uniquely quirky sensibility.
