Maki Asakawa, the singer and songwriter who started her career in the 1960s at a U.S. Army camp and cabaret, was discovered by Shuji Terayama and Koji Teramoto in the late 1960s, and started performing live at Sasori-za in Shinjuku. The album was produced by Teramoto Koji and released in 1972. In addition to famous jazz musicians such as Yosuke Yamashita (p), Nobuyoshi Hagiwara (g), and Hiro Tsunoda (ds), Masayoshi Takanaka plays bass on this album. All the songs are great, but the highlight is A3, where Yosuke Yamashita played piano solo, "Strange Fruit," which is a famous song sung by Billy Holliday. A4 is also good, sung against a double recording of acoustic guitar by Nobuyoshi Hagiwara.

A3: 奇妙な果実 Strange Fruit
