Mark Pekarsky : Ritmo
Music for Percussion
Melodia (USSR) 1989
C10 28481 006 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(SRW)
media : EX-/EX-(some slightly surface noises.)

This album was released in 1989 by the Russian percussionist Mark Pekarsky's percussion group, a percussion ensemble of arrangements of unknown traditional classical music from the 8th to 18th centuries, and excerpts from opera scores. The music is not classical/traditional, but is arranged in a contemporary style, similar to les Percussions de Strasbourg in France. B1, with its pleasant bell sounds and recorders, and B3, with its scattered guiro and claves rhythms in the sound field, are organic.

B1: Two Directions
B3: Ritmo
