H 109 (LP)

An album released in 1986 by the Italian group Matt Jazz Quintet, consisting of Maurizzio Caldura Nunez (ss,ts), Alessandro Di Puccio (vib), Luca Flores (p), Marco Vaggi (b), and Giaani Cazzola (dr). From Splasc(h), a label that led the Italian new jazz scene from the mid-80s onwards. A superb album featuring post-bop and contemporary jazz, showing the influence of John Coltrane's historic masterpiece "Love Supreme" and the spirit of 60's US modal jazz, including the impressive A1 with Nunez's hot-blowing tenor saxophone.
