Max Roach Quintet
Long as You’re Living
Enja Records (Germany) 1984
enja 4074 (LP) Original pressing
sleeve : NM-
media : NM-/NM-(some slightly surface noises, still fine condition.)

This album, released in 1984, was the first to be recorded by American jazz drummer Max Roach from a concert he gave for German radio/television station Suedweatfunk in 1960, and features quintet with Stanley Turrentine (ts), Tommy Turrentine (tp), Julian Priester (tb) and Bobby Boswell (b). The album features a selection of original compositions by Roach and the other members, and also included scores likes of Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Dorham. This is a rare opportunity to experience the unique performance of Roach, who, along with Kenny Clark, was one of the earliest to establish the bebop style. The sound is powerful and unique to the mono recording.
